Hey followers... Here's some more buzz.
Gord Becker is unveiling a new piece.
Here's his message to me.

Finally, a new piece has been completed
and added to my Dancer Collection.
The first public viewing will be at the
John B. Aird Gallery in the Macdonald Block,
900 Bay St. at Wellesley on Oct. 1st. 2009
as part of the Canadian Sculptors Society
81st. Anniversary Exhibition.
I invite you

Then we had a donation to the Off Camera kitty
from a fellow named Dan Houck. He tells us that
Off Camera helped to launch his work.
So many thanks to Dan and best of luck in the future.
You can see Dan's work on last year's website at
http://offcameraatfilmport2008.blogspot.com/

While I'm on the subject, another artist who shows with us,
Nika Belianina, has also sent a note to say that the attention
her work attracted with Off Camera has accelerated her career.
So... bravo Nika and best of luck.
Nika's portfolio is available on this website.

So here's the buzz...
Henry Benvenuti, who
with the help of sister
Adriana Van Drunen
curated this years
Off Camera collection,
is having his own show.
Here's an invite for you.
I was in a gathering,
maybe an hour ago....
and somebody said..
"Be there or be square".
I said ... Hey!
I use that expression.
So...

Welcome to Off Camera 2009
To the right are links to most of the participating artists.
They are in alphabetical order from the top down.
Click on each picture to view a portfolio in Flikr.
The buzz is that there are many more artists participating
in this show, who are not yet represented on this page...
Evidently the work was being created right up to the bell.
On behalf of Off Camera's founder; Patricia Chard,
curators Henry Benvenuti and Adriana Van Drunen,
all the other worker bees behind the scenes.....
and the artists we are presenting;
we hope to see you on opening night.
best regards
Derek Stephenson

Art lovers:
I was at the gallery tonight delivering some work.
The space is long and narrow like a river boat,
so no matter where you stand you are surrounded by art.
I think opening night promises to be a hot ticket.
Art, music, snacks and an intimate party atmosphere.
The gallery has store windows where the sculpture will live.
We have one of Toronto's leading interpreters of the blues
laying down his smooth vocals and "Fat Tone" harp style.
Henry Benvenuti has got some video organized..
Food is by the Shwarma guy down the street...
So... A cash bar and a room full of artists....
Be there, or .. have a nap.
Your choice.

The musician we are presenting this year is Mark Stafford.
For those of you who haven't heard Mark, you are in for a treat.
Mark performed at last year's highly successful Filmport show.
Check out his bio by clicking on his picture to the right and down.
Mark will have CDs, harps, and harp necklaces for sale.
See you all there for some Blues.
not to mention every other colour in the art world.
